This time of year toy stores pull out all the stops to try and sell you their stuff. It can be quite daunting to find the perfect gifts for everyone. I have a few great websites for you to try. I actually have the catalogs at home, but you can shop online as well. They have great kid’s gifts for all ages at reasonable prices. Original and unique gifts for girls, boys, sons, daughters, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, teachers, etc. Hearth Song and Lilly’s Kids have mostly kids’ stuff and Plow and Hearth has some great stuff for adults, teachers, coach’s etc. Happy shopping.

You know, as a young kid growing up in Florida, i hated it when the weatherman said that there were going to be afternoon thunderstorms during the summer. There were always better things to do than sit inside and listen to the rain beat against the windows. Rain just got in the way of all the fun I was supposed to be having while on hiatus from school. Well, now that I am all grown up and responsible for paying the water bill, I love the rain! It means that I don’t have to spend countless hours moving the sprinkler around my yard so the grass will get green. It means that I don’t have to stand in the blazing heat and water all the wilting potted plants on my deck. It means that I won’t have to pay an enormous water bill this month. My girls still like to sing… “rain, rain, go away, come again some other day..”, but I must admit that i like the rain now. So I am sitting in my office listening to the thunder roll and the rain beat against my windows and it is like putting money back into my pocket.
