Things to Do

Here are some fun things to do with your kids in and around Cartersville and Bartow County.

The Cartersville Library

The Cartersville Public Library has great activites for children of all ages. Their website does not list current dates and times for the summer events, but you can stop by and pick a schedule. My kids love storytime. Wed at 10 am for babies and toddlers and 11 am preschool. They also have an afternoon session on Wed at 3 pm for kids 5 and up.

The Duck Pond

Dellinger Park is a great outing for you and your kids. I love taking mine to feed the local ducks around the lake and then to one of the playgrounds. There are covered picnic areas and lot of room to run around. Dellinger Park has tennis courts, ball fields, a swimming pool and miniture golf. Check this out for more info.

Indoor Fun

There is a great place to visit on a rainy day or when you need to be indoors. It is over in Canton, but not a bad trip over there. The Bounce House is a fun place full of inflatable bouncy things with slides, ball tosses, mazes and lots of surfaces to jump on. I found out about it on this website managed in Atlanta that list activities for kids around town. The facility is clean and the staff friendly. You can’t beat the prices for open jump time. They are the best around, believe me I have looked. Parents and kids under 3 are free with a paying child. My kids loved it and we will definitely go again.

Chattanooga, TN

A little road trip north will take you to Chattanooga, TN. I love this place. I admit the first time I went there was only a year ago, but i fell in love with it. I have been the the Aquarium and many of the local restaurants in the downtown area. My husband and I have taken our children to the Discovery Museum and we now have a membership. We had the best time there. There was something to do for my 5 year-old, my 2-year-old and even my baby. It was one of the best day outing we have had as a family. My compliments to the staff. We topped off the day with a visit to the Nestle Tollhouse cookie store. Mmmm! Chattanooga is definitely a great place to take a day trip to.
